Spreetail was built by leaning into change. From the very beginning, the company has moved with urgency, embracing risk and chasing opportunity in an ever-shifting ecommerce landscape.
What started as a bold idea has, over two decades, transformed into a story marked by constant reinvention. Each milestone isn’t just a marker of growth, but evidence of a deeper commitment: to evolve alongside the brands we serve, and to shape what modern commerce can look like when speed, adaptability, and ambition collide.
The History of Spreetail
2006
Spreetail did not start with a business plan. It started with credit card debt and sheer will. Our founder, Vitali, faced a permanent ban on his eBay account, his home burned down, and his child was born. He kept building anyway. That is the foundation everything else was built on.
LapkoSoft, the first iteration of Spreetail, launched selling refurbished servers. Then strollers. Then car audio. The products changed constantly, but that was never really the point. What mattered was the team crammed into one room, one tiny warehouse, one dock door.
2007
Our first employee was hired.
2008
We opened our first fulfillment center in Lincoln, NE.
2009
A product demonstration of the Pacific Outdoors Aluminum Game Hauler, one of the earliest records of Spreetail telling its own story on camera.
2010
Spreetail officially launched on Amazon and opened our first office in Lincoln, NE – Where we are still headquartered.
2011
We opened our next fulfillment center out of Las Vegas, NV and started offering free 1-2-day shipping.
VMInnovations (Spreetail) hit one million dollars in sales in a single week, racked up over 3,700 orders on Cyber Monday, and out-sold Buy.com in weekly revenue. Customers in all 50 states had ordered from us. Visitors from 190 countries had found us online. The company occupied 5 different warehouses. And our eBay satisfaction rating sat at 99.7% across 400,000 reviews.
2012
Fulfillment center number three opened in Harrisburg, PA, allowing us to better serve both the West and East coast.
We worked with one of our fun products - an officially licensed Scooby-Doo costume.
2014
In 2014, we made a decision: stop being a small lifestyle business and start building something that mattered, for our team, our community, and the people we hired. That mindset shift took us from 100 million to over 1 billion in revenue, and from fewer than 100 people to more than 1,000. It started with a vision and the courage to chase it.
To get it all started, we officially launched on Walmart and gained 1 million positive reviews. And, we haven't slowed down since.
2015
The Spreetail brand that you know today was born.

2016
Spreetail expands our partnership with Amazon to launch on Amazon Prime. As our channels grow, so does our service areas. We open our next fulfillment center in Indianapolis, IN.
2018
Omaha here we come! We opened our second office location in the neighboring metro town of Omaha, NE. The expansion continued as we launched on Target as one of the first, exclusive sellers, and we opened three more fulfillment centers in Savannah, GA, Austin, TX, and Dallas, TX.
2019
We continued growing by launching on new channels including Lowe’s and Home Depot. To mark how far we came as a company, we made the move to a new and improved office in Lincoln’s Innovation Campus.
2020 – 2021
During the pandemic, we had three central focuses to win: Fight for Inventory, Fight for our Listings, and Fight to Ship Customer Orders. For two years straight, we rallied every week around those three focuses. What I learned is that when a team locks in on just two or three things, they can do the impossible. The business more than doubled in revenue during that time.
Despite what many saw as trying times, Spreetail triumphed. We launched on five new channels including Wayfair, Kohl’s, Kroger, Best Buy, and Overstock, opened a new fulfillment center in Seattle, WA, and hit 1 million orders fulfilled.
2022
Spreetail went global, opening our first international office and fulfillment center in the UK.
2023
Continued growth meant the need to reach new markets. We expanded our channels team and embraced influencer marketing with our brands as we launched on TikTok Shop.
Our international team gained traction, and we looked to build outside of the UK, opening our second international fulfillment center in Germany.
2024
We hit our most profitable year yet – for both us and our brands. Near the end of 2024, Spreetail accomplished the biggest Black Friday and Cyber Monday event in its history with 40% YoY sales growth.
2025
Our consistent work to grow and be better was recognized by Fast Company when we were recognized as one of the most innovative companies of the year.
2026, our story continues. The same drive that fueled our earliest days still pushes us to rethink what’s possible, to grow alongside our partners, and to meet the future head-on. As the landscape evolves, so will we—building on everything we’ve learned while staying grounded in what has always set Spreetail apart: speed, adaptability, and a relentless commitment to progress.
